Let's face it, San Francisco is no fashion capitol.  The vibe is understated, casual, even sloppy.  Designer labels are OUT, and not brushing your hair is IN.  Hey I'm not complaining I've really come to embrace the laid back NorCal look and I love not brushing my hair.  I traded in my heels for sneakers and now as a bonofide sneakerhead my style has really adapted to the city I am in.  That being said, fashion is still EVERYTHING to me and I would give up my home and food for designer labels.  It's just who I am.  My style in SF still embraces high fashion, but it's def got a more casual grungy low key flair to it.

Also, everyone here is in workout clothes and in having embraced such an active lifestyle as well, the sporty look really does show through and it's def a part of my style. Enjoy some of my looks below!

Above I am wearing a Tribhaus beanie (my own brand) all black casual workout clothing and an Just Cavalli watch and Prada sunnies.

Above I am wearing Converse, a Forever 21 Camo jacket, and an Alexander Wang handbag.

Above I am wearing MET Jeans from Tribehaus, ASH sneakers and a Moschino sweater.

Above I am wearing my Adidas Tubulars, an all Lucy activewear outfit and my Wang bag again.

I have been living in San Francisco for over a year now.  What an amazing city I am blessed enough to live in.  I believe in destiny and moving here is part of my destiny and I do not take that for granted.  I am training for a Bikini Competition so working out lately has been a huge priority.  I have also been able to try out different gyms/studios as a perk for working for an athletic clothing company.   Here are my top 6 places to work out in the city (in no particular order)  Enjoy!

1. Studiomix

Nestled on Van Ness between O'Farrel and Geary, this is one of the most beautiful gym spaces I have been in.  Ultra modern, simplistic and chic I fell in love when I walked in.  But the best part is not aesthetic, it's the amazing classes, instructors and variety they offer.  I can take weight lifting, spinning, barre, yoga, bootcamp etc. the list goes on. A super friendly staff so it's got a great feel.  I wish I could tell you which class is my favorite but every time I take a class it's my favorite! Barre mix is amazing, bootcamp is fun and challenging.  It's a gym worth checking out if you prefer a class setting to just doing the same boring eliptical routine you always do.

2.  Equinox (Market Street)

This is perfect for your traditional luxury gym needs.  Large workout areas and machines, plenty of weights, classrooms for yoga, boxing, pilates, spinning, etc.  Steam room, sauna, showers, staff in locker rooms.  There are 3 locations in the city, the Marina, Financial district, and the Downtown Market street which is my personal favorite.  I just prefer the vibe of this one, but everyone is different.  It's ajoined to the Four Seasons, there's basketball courts and a swimming pool.  Definately worth checking out if you are a total gym rat and love a "gym scene".  Although this one is pretty low key which is why I love it.

3.  Soul Cycle (Union)

Yes I drank the kool aid.  Soul Cycle Union Street is located in the Marina/Cow Hollow neighborhood aka the land of yoga/pilates studios, yoga clothing stores such as Lulu Lemon and tons of healthy eating options like Lite Bite and my favorite, Plant Cafe.  If you have never been it's worth trying, I can understand why people get obessed, it's an awesome concept, the brand itself is strong.  I love the energy of the instructors, and let's not forget the MUSIC, especially if you are/were kind of a club head.  It's awesome when a class is packed and the energy of the room really is something special.  It's a fun way to get in your cardio and worth the experience!

4. Bikram Yoga Northbeach

Located in my neighborhood, Northbeach, San Francisco's "little Italy",  this studio is my heart and soul.  It was Bikram himself's first studio opened in 1973.  It has history, it is authentic.  There are no fancy bells and whistles, no luxury steam rooms.  Just real honest good people and BEST BIKRAM instructors.  The friendly atmosphere gives it a community feel with all ages, sizes, races and sexes.  I love this studio and have been going now for a year, the studio manager Bev is a brilliant experienced instructor, and you will always be in good hands here.  This is a safe place you can go to really work on yourself, your yoga and your practice with no judgement and no ego.

5. Basecamp

Located on the corner of Filbert and Van Ness this is a relatively new concept  that I love.  One minunte on the bike, then one minunte of some sort of strength building exercise whether it's abs, upperbody or legs, then back to the bike and so on.  It's a fast pace 35 minunte workout with awesome people and instructors.  The studio itself is beautifully designed and accomplishes it's purpose, again a community feel with super friendly enthusiastic staff.  The 35 min. workouts are great for people with hectic schedueles that need a high intensity workout without spending hours at a gym.  Each class/day is different targeting abs one day, upper body the next so you can keep challenging yourself without getting bored of the same exercises.  Worth checking out if you live or are visiting the city!

6. BodyworkSF

BEST PERSONAL TRAINING IN SF.  Located on Union Street, If you need one on one personal training with experienced personal trainers this is where you go.  Whether you need to whittle your body down to get bikini competition ready (me) or just want to lose your baby weight, At BodyworkSF you will get that skilled personal trainer who will improve your technique so not only are you acheiving your goals, but you are doing it in correct form and preciseness, which you don't get from most group classes.  The studio itself is pleasant, sunny and comfortable.  I feel at home here and the space provides an atmosphere where you can get real work done. If finding an excellent trainer to work on personal fitness goals with is what you are looking for, then this is the studio for you.

I love Michael!!! Enjoy our Style Focus interview below!

Q:  Tell us about you, your skateboarding, your photography, etc

A:  Well my name is Michael and I have a passion for skateboarding and photography, I like to think of myself as an overall friendly person. I enjoy hanging out with friends and meeting new people even though I'm a quiet person when it comes to first impressions. I don't care what negative people have to say about me just as long as I know who and what I am then I have nothing to worry about. Since I was little I always played Tony Hawk Underground Skateboarding and I really loved it! So I guess from there is when it all started! I love skateboarding with all my heart and I have deep passion for it and having friends who share the same views makes it all the more greater! My favorite thing is heights, I love being in the air and I love skating off the biggest thing I can find. My motto is "Don't think, just do!" and if I get hurt I can either walk away or use that pain as motivation and keep going until I land the trick! From there was when I started to do photography, I wanted to keep memories of my friends and the times we shared so I began taking photos. Although that is how it started my views for photography started to change. Rather than just friends I wanted people to see the world through my eyes so photography became its own separate hobby for me.

Q:  How would you describe your style?

A:  I describe my style as just me, I don't think I fall into any particular category. I jump around and my style will always change. One day I would wear all black, the next I could wear button ups with a tie. I describe my style as my mood and who I am. If I feel like dressing dark and putting in my contacts then that's what Ill do, if I feel like being colorful then so be it.

Q:  Where do you live and how does this influence your style?

A:  I live in Raleigh NC, although my house resigns in Raleigh its actually the boarder line of Raleigh/Garner. I think where I live played a really big part on influencing my style. Almost everyone here dresses the same and I don't like it. I want to be different by being myself! I feel that everyone here is too focused on being different that they're all ending up being the same. So where I lived helped me with staying to myself and being just Michael!

Q:  What music are you listening to?

A:  At the moment I am listening to this Japanese band called BabyMetal, I have no idea what they're saying but I really like it! My genre in music differs depending on my mood, but I don't listen to country or gospel. If its not loud and energetic then I doubt I would like it!

Q:  What are some of your favorite brands?

A:  Oh my I have a lot! My favorite brands are Pac Sun, H&M, Killstar clothing, Urban Outfitters, Modern Amusement, Underated, Acid Reign, Karmaloop, Endless Grind, Stylelazy, Black Craft, and why of course Tribe!

Q:  Where would you like to see yourself in 5 years?

A:  Hmmm my views in 5 years could go one or two ways, I see myself going on tour and playing shows with my band if we start to get well known and if not I see myself owning my own photography studio.

Q:  What's the most outrageous thing you have ever done?

A:  Wow Ive done a bunch of outrageous stuff before. I think one of the craziest things I've done (that's appropriate to say) is that I once jumped off a roof on my skateboard in a attempt to land it... and the outrages part would be that Ive done it multiple times after I have failed. If that's not the most outrageous thing Ive done then it would probably be skating while holding onto the back of someones car going 25mph down hill. It might not seem scary when you're in a car but when outside on a skateboard knowing that if you hit one little rock your life would probably be over and you can kiss your face goodbye!

Q:  Why is style important to you?

A:  Style is very important to me because it helps one express themselves without words. I go to a school where I have to wear uniform and its a pain because I cant express myself so I try to bend the rules and find loopholes. Style shows individuality and what you like! It helps draw people in with similar taste and it shows people your color.

Q  And finally, what's your advice (about anything) to other young people in the world?

A:  My advice to young people and people in general is just do what you love! There's a lot of people in this world who are trying to be different but if everyone is trying to be different then everyone is the same! Be yourself and do what you want to do because no one is originally the same. Stay true to who you are!

Although Tribe is mostly girl stuff I really like the Lobo Ranglan. I think the sleeves are really cool and the design of it in general is amazing!

Q:  Where are you from and where do you live now?

A:  I was born in Poland, but  live and study in England.

Q:  How old are you?

A:  I’m 18 years old.

Q:  What is your occupation?

A:  I’m a full time student , studying Business and Admin. and also Fashion and Design.

Q:  How would you describe your style?

A:  I went through a lot of styles!  A couple of years ago I would wear pink all the time, I had blond long hair, pink nails, cute dresses . But then I started to mix and match a bit more and I fell in love with leather! Since then I could wear leather all the time.  I would mix leather leggings with everything.  And now my style is mixture between rock chick and gothic.  People sometimes give me really different looks and talk about what I'm wearing etc. But that's THE WHOLE POINT! That's what I wanted! I love when I walk down the street and people start to look at me.

Q:  Why is fashion and style so important to you?

A:  Without fashion and style everyone would look the same.  I can’t imagine living without Fashion, it’s the only way I can express myself and show people who I am  and what I stand for.  It’s like my addiction!

Q:  What do you want your style to say about you?

A:  I want my style to say that I’m a crazy girl with big dreams haha :D

Q:  What are some of your favorite designers and brands?

A:  My favorite designers  are Channel and Versace and I actually own a vintage Versace top which is 10 years old! My favorite brands are TopShop , RiverIsland and Tribehaus!

Q:  What are some other places, things, people that influence your style?

A:  Everything has a little influence on my style, I love 80’s 90’s fashion, read old fashion magazines especially Vogue and to look at the way they dressed years ago.  People that influence my style are some of my favorite fashion bloggers like Maffashion,  Dominique and also people like  Rihanna, Rita Ora and sometimes just random people that I see in town.

Q:  What are you dreams and goals?

A:  My dream is to be a Fashion Designer or a Stylist. My goal atm is to finish college and to study in London University.

Q:  What music are you listening to right now?

Right now I listen to 30 Seconds To Mars I think they are amazing! But apart from that I listen to nearly all kinds of music .

Q:  If you could give one piece of advice to young girls pursuing fashion, what would it be?

A:  My advice would be :
Dream Big and work hard for it because it’s worth it!  Do what you want to do no matter what.

Q:  Tell us about your own blog, and how we can follow you.

A:  On my Blog I want to show my person style, what inspires me and also music.  Also I like to talk about latest Fashion Shows and what caught my attention.

What do you aspire to be?  What are your passions?  Are you working on your dreams daily?  There are two types of people in this world, people who work hard on their dreams everyday and people who sit around and watch.  Which one are you?

After connecting with aspiring designer Maria Garza on twitter I immediately felt a connection with her spirit, passion and warm and kind presence.   She has a unique perspective on fashion and is pursuing her dreams and goals gracefully.   What better way to celebrate this, than in a feature!  Enjoy our interview below!

Q:  Where were you born and where are you from?

A:  I was born in the USA, lived in Mexico my entire life, and now I moved to Texas!

Q:  How old are you?

A:  I am 18…19 in just a few more months.

Q:  What made you dream of becoming a fashion designer?

A:  My mom has always been a very stylish person, and she would always dress us really fashionable, and a little bit different to what other girls wore, so I guess that’s when my passion for fashion started. Then when I was 2nd grade my teacher was getting married and I was so exited that I designed her a Cinderella-like dress…that’s when it all started.

Q:  What type of women do you want to design for?

A:  For every woman that is willing to stand out, make heads turn wherever she walks. Anyone that is willing to be confident, to feel beautiful. Everybody and every body is BEAUTIFUL!

Q:  What fashion designers influence your style, designs and life the most and who are your favorites?

A:  My favorite designers, the ones that somehow have an influence in what I want to express with my designs are Max Azria and Donatella Versace. Their designs always show so much life and transmit beautiful vibes. That is something I want to achieve when I design.

Q:  What inspires you other than fashion, landscape, art, music?

A:  I enjoy every type of art, but dancing inspires me in a way that I can’t even begin to describe, makes me have beautiful emotions and believe that the sky is the limit. A little bit of dancing now and then helps the soul.

Q:  What music are you listening to right now?

A:  I am listening a lot of One Direction, their music is super catchy and fun! I am also listening to Mexican legends Benny Ibarra, Sasha Sokol and Erick Rubin! Their album “Primera Fila” is AMAZING! You should listen to it!

Q:  What message do you want your clothing to send to the women wearing them?

A:  I want them to know that with my clothing there is no need to feel ashamed, or shy, I want my clothes to tell women “HEY! YOU ARE ROCKING THIS! YOU ARE MAKING HEADS TURN! YOU OWN IT GIRL!”
I want to show confidence, fierceness, girl power, and also elegance with my clothing.

Q:  Where would you like to see yourself in 10 years?

A:  I would love to see myself living in London, having my own Fashion House, my own runway show, and having a charity.

Q:  How would you describe your own style?

A:  A little bit different, a mixture of many styles. When I dress I feel like it is a dress up game. I like to mix and match styles, sometimes I want to look hippie, others rocker….sometimes I want to be a cowgirl, it all depends on my mood!

Q:  How has where you live influence your style?

A:  It hasn’t influenced much, people here dress really good, but I like different…I am not looking what are the trends here, locally. I am looking what are the trends in New York, London. Those styles are the ones that influence me the most.

Q:  And finally what advice can you give to other aspiring designers, artists, musicians?

A:  Fight for what you want! God will always open so many doors for you, will give you all the possibilities to be whoever you want to be! It is up to you If you take those chances. Also don’t be discouraged if something doesn’t happen the way you planned it, learn from those experiences. I can assure you will help you in your seek for your dream. It CAN  happen! You just need to work hard, plan, and NEVER STOP DREAMING!

Q:  And how can we follow you!? (blog, twitter, etc)

A:  You can follow me on my Twitter @mariafgarza and also on Instagram @maria_garza7…and I am currently working on a webpage….so keep your eyes open!

I connected with blogger Patricia Blaj at the very beginning of Tribehaus.  I fell in love with her blog, spirit and own personal style.   She is a free thinking beautiful individual with a big heart.  Always classy, well traveled, sophisticated and the real deal, enjoy our interview with her below!

Q:  Where were you born and how old are you?

A:  I was born in Transylvania and I am 18 years old.

Q:  Where do you live now and what do you do?

A:  I'm still in Transylvania, living in a city called Cluj Napoca.  Right now I'm struggling with my last high school year and trying to figure out what I want to do with my life in the future.

Q:  How would you describe your style?

A:  The first thing that came to me upon reading this question was what my boyfriend described it as a few days ago: all over the place. I take inspiration from so many people and styles that I really don't have a word or even a phrase to describe it.

Q:  What/where/who most influences your style?

A:  My mom was the one who introduced me to the fashion world so she'll always be one of my top influencers. We're almost the same size so I've been stealing stuff from her closet for as long as I can remember.
The Japanese street style has also had an influence on me since I started developing my own style.

Q:  Who are some of your favorite designers?

A:  Alexander McQueen, Acne and COMME des GARÇONS.

Q:  How have your travels helped develop your own unique style?

A:  There's pretty much no street style going on where I live, so one of my favourite things about travelling is getting to see so many different and unique styles in one place. Tokyo was definitely my favourite, it's crazy.

Q:  What music are you listening to right now?

A:  Right now I am listening to The Perks Of Being a Wallflower's soundtrack. It's one of my favourite movies and the soundtrack is just delicious!

A:  What are your future goals?

Q:  I'd really love to have a job which involves a lot of traveling and photography. As tacky as it sounds one of my biggest dreams is being able to love the people I do now because they make my life perfect, right now I feel like almost nothing's missing.

A:  What advice would you give to other fashion and lifestyle bloggers?

Q:  Break the pattern, be consistent and socialize with fellow bloggers. There's no way of thriving or even surviving in the industry if you don't do that. Oh, and dream big.

Q:  What types of things are you most passionate about?

A:  Artsy things. Though I must shamefully admit that I get bored of stuff pretty easily and my passions change like the wind, fashion and music being the only ones that I've got since I can remember.

Q:  And finally, how can we follow you and what are your top picks from the Tribehaus shop!?

A:  My blogs are: http://wingsforliberty.com and http://ileftmyheartintokyo.tumblr.com and my facebook page is: http://www.facebook.com/wingsforliberty

Enjoy my top picks from the shop below!

This song by XXYYXX come on my pandora this morning and I am officially obsessed, I had to share.  Enjoy!

Since our last interview with Ahsh Eff, she has released her MixTape, The Wrath of Young Ursulah: http://www.audiomack.com/album/ahsh-eff/the-wrath-of-young-ursulah-1.   It is fresh, powerful and intelligent.

There is no other like Ahsh. She truly embodies the soul of a free thinker and individual and just her presence and ferocity will inspire you.  Enjoy our second interview with her below!

Q: Since our last interview your mix tape has dropped.  Tell us what it's all about and how we can get it.

A: My debut MixTape "The Wrath Of Young Ursulah"(#TWOYU), is a tale of a Villainous Outsider possessing nothing, but doing what it takes to conquer all, in the context of the project symbolizing my growth & goals to be great and excel at what I do; as what I believe is the perfect introduction. The Mixtape is available at www.AhshEff.com/Mixtape, where you can Listen, Download, Share & Leave Feedback.

Q: What message does this mix tape convey?

A: I'd like to think of the Mixtape as a story, like the first musical score of my life as a movie. I use the word villain, and talk in the context of someone who is a misfit, throughout the Mixtape because that's what I am. I feel like villains always have a backstory that is never usually showcased, and that backstory explains why they are who they are. The villain is the underdog, that never gets their chance to shine. Because of negativity behind the word, they are automatically prejudged without the chance to show and prove. But I'm the villain who changes it up, who climbs out of obscurity! "The Wrath of Young Ursulah" hence, the acronym #TWOYU.

Q: How has it been received?

A: I've had a fair amount of traffic; the Views, Streams, and Downloads of the MixTape are steadily increasing.

Q: What are you currently working on?

A:  I'm currently working on promoting my project, and gaining as much attention as possible, as well as scheduling performance dates, and finding every outlet possible to showcase my MixTape and who I am as an entertainer, to reach the masses!

Q: How have you grown as an artist since our last interview, what have you learned?

A: Since our last interview, I've ultimately been able to tighten up who I am as an artist. I've also learned that my legs, and arms are in fact the best places to write concepts, and rhymes the second they come to mind... I call it my rappin' skin. Haha. #LinezOnMe!

Q: What do you want your style, energy and music to say to the world?

A: I want my style, energy and music, to give people freedom! I want them to know that you can embrace who you are, and you don't have to change for anyone! We are humans, made perfectly imperfect. Some of us were not made to fit in, follow rules, live regular lives, or have tons of friends, but whatever category you fit into embrace that sh*t! Cause there's only 1 you, and that's the glory of having the ability to an individual!

Q: What music is currently inspiring you right now?

A: Jay-Z, Juvenile, Nirvana, UGK, and No Limit, are truly inspiring me the most right now! Although they all seem so different, one thing they share in common that I love the most; is that they all create freely, with no boundaries. Through their music they convey that nothing is too outrageous. Even though my style does not directly replicate theirs, I've been infinitely inspired by them.

Q: What has been your biggest struggle to overcome?

A: My biggest struggle that I'm still overcoming is being called a "Female Rapper" verses, an Lyricist/Entertainer. I continuously reiterate the fact, that no one should be limited to gender. Talent is colorless, and gender less to me, you either have It or you don't.

Q: HATERS. We all have them.  What advice can you give to young people about tuning out the negativity?

A: Hating is a profession, not an action. Hating is a full time job! Haters stay true for the rest of their lives. What they chase are new people to hate on... NOT DREAMS! So because you know that all their lives are amounting to is tons of hatred, you know where they're headed... Nowhere fast! Stick up your middle finger and keep it moving!

Q: Finally, leave us with some words of inspiration about your purpose as an artist.

A: My purpose is to be great! I refuse to let anything or anyone be in the way of that. I have tunnel vision, and my eyes are on nothing but the prize. I was given this gift to speak for myself, and others who cannot, and that's what I intend to do!

Keeping fashion WEIRD, blogger and fashion icon Melanie Reyes has such a strong and fierce style you can't look away.  She exudes beauty, confidence and individuality and is not afraid to be herself.  She is influential in the fashion community and definitely one to check out!  Enjoy our interview below : )

Q:  How old are you?  Where are you from?  How did you develop such an awesome personal style?

A:   I'm 18, I moved from New Jersey to North Carolina! But I still consider my
self to be a city girl~  I haven't always had a sense of style I guess, but with some time and realizing that I was different than most people, I began wearing tutus to school, and that's where it all started haha (:

Q:  What are your passions? Dreams? Goals?

A:  My passion is of course fashion! It hasn't been too long since I"ve started dressing the way that I do, but it's all I think about. I'm always shopping online, I work in a mall at an H&M store where I live, so I'm always working, and thinking about fashion! I love talking to people who aren't sure of themselves because they're not sure what people may think of them. I love helping people find themselves, and motivating people to be who they want to be despite what others may think! My goal is to one day have a clothing line of my own (:

Q:  How would you describe your style?

A:  I don't know what I would describe it as? I feel like I have a lot of different styles kind of packed into one! One day I might be colorful and fun, and the next I could be in all black!

Q:  What are your favorite brands?

A:  Oh god....Unif would have to be my favorite brand! Their clothes are so BAD ASS, and they're a big inspiration to the kind of clothes I want to make in the future! I also LOVE Jeffrey Campbell, O-Mighty,

Q:  What music are you listening too?
.
A:  This question always puzzles me... Lately I've been listening to a lot of dance music like Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, and different dance mixes! On the flip side to that, I've been listening to a lot of like.. Kanye West and Jay Z as well... Then it goes into Lana Del Rey, and like.. The Weeknd. IT MAKES NO SENSE I KNOW BUT I LOVE IT ALL OKAY. <3

Q:  Who/what/where influences your style the most?

A:  90's fashion, Hanna Beth, fashion bloggers Dominique (http://www.style2bones.com/) and Rachel Lynch (http://ihateblonde.com/), Japanese Harajuku fashion UNIF, aliens, Lana Del Rey, some girls I work with at H&M and the list goes on and on and on (:

Q:  You have such a strong unique and bad ass style, how does this reflect your personality?

A:  I just like to have fun! I feel like a lot of people see the way I dress as really weird, and they just don't understand! I'm just having fun!

Q:  What advice can you give other young women about not being afraid to be themselves, put themselves out there and take risks? in fashion and in life.

A:  If it makes you happy, do it/wear it! That's the biggest thing! You'll never be happy if you live your life trying to please everyone else but yourself! Who's there in the end? You, right? So you should make yourself happy, and be whoever YOU want to be! ♥

Q:  If you could be doing and living anywhere right now where and what would that be?

A:  If I could be living anywhere, I'd be in New York City, LA California, OR Tokyo Japan!

beau·ty  [byoo-tee]
noun, plural beau·ties.

The quality in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind, whether arising from sensory manifestations (as shape, color, sound, etc.), a meaningful design or pattern, or something else (as a personality in which high spiritual qualities are manifest).

Synonyms : loveliness, pulchritude, comeliness, fairness, attractiveness.

Beauty comes in many ways. In some, it expresses itself with blonde hair and blue eyes or with pale skin, red hair and green eyes, while in others with a loving heart and a kind soul. Everyone is beautiful in their own way. It doesn’t matter the shape, or the hair color, or the nationality. You are beautiful, even if you have curves or a not that perfect nose ( Does even a perfect nose exists? We’ll never know ) .
Beauty comes hand in hamd with self-esteem, this is why is important to believe in your body and your soul, to believe in yourself. The persons who have high self- esteem can see how beautiful they are, while the ones who have low self-esteem, think they are not capable of being beautiful and that is not very good for their confidence. This is why teenagers are not very confident in them, because they don’t believe in their beauty, in their looks , in their body.
Especially girls. We are the worst when it comes to self-esteem. We notice all the imperfections we have, imagine others we don’t have and ignore the perfections we have.
In order to be happy we have to let go of all the imperfections and let ourselves be beautiful.

Some quotes about beauty :

“Think of all the beauty still left around you and be happy.”
― Anne Frank

“A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.”
― Coco Chanel

“What you do, the way you think, makes you beautiful.”
― Scott Westerfeld

“The best part of beauty is that which no picture can express.”
― P.C. Cast

“Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.”

― Confucius

I connected with model and blogger Vicieux through twitter last year.  She has been such a loyal follower and customer, blogging about Tribe as we have grown as a company and always there to offer support.  We have become good friends and she is as smart as she is fashion savvy.  I respect and honor her and one of the best parts of this company is meeting young women as amazing as she is!  She is a BIG part of this community and company and I am so happy to feature here in our Style Focus for the week!~ Enjoy our beautiful interview below!

Q:  How old are you?

A:  I am 25 years young.

Q:  Where were you born and where do you live now?

A:  I was born in Victorville, California. I lived there until the age of 15 and then moved to Las Vegas with my mother and grandmother. I stayed in Vegas until the age of 23, which is when I moved out to where I live now in Spokane, Washington.

Q:  When did you start your blog and why did you start blogging?

A:  I started my blog during September of last year. I decided that I wanted to create a website to represent myself professionally as a model and writer. Of course, most websites that are designed to showcase modeling or writing portfolios are fairly impersonal, and I didn’t want to give off that vibe about myself. Eventually it occurred to me that if I set up a blog on the site, then I could share my personal style and write about anything that interested me or share little pieces of my life. This was also very important to me for a lesser known reason; in order for me to be able to thrive happily somewhere, I need to be able to exude my thoughts and emotions creatively in some manner. Since there were very few legitimate modeling opportunities when I moved to Spokane, blogging became my outlet for creativity and self expression.

Q:  What are some of your favorite designers?

A:  For more casual clothing, I’d say Reverse, Dimepiece, DKNY, Lauren Moshi. Y-R-U for shoes, definitely. I own tons of stuff from one of my favorite designers in Sweden, Holy Malice. I take inspiration from Mugler, The Blonds, McQueen, though you won’t find me wearing them; I make style boards of ideas to use for DIY fashion projects and photo shoots.

Q:  How would you describe your style?

A:  Fashion enigma. My style varies from day to day because it’s influenced greatly by my moods and interests. I might wear something that’s purely gothic or punkish during the daytime and then end up wearing Roberto Cavalli later on that night when I go out to dinner because I want to look more elegant. I have a very unpredictable style.

Q:  What are your ultimate career goals?

A:  My ultimate career goal is to become a psychologist and focus my work towards treating memory loss and mental illness.

Q:  What music are you listening to right now?

A:  To name a few that are always on heavy rotation: Depeche Mode, AFI, Otto Dix, Lana Del Rey, The XX, Crystal Castles. Otherwise, I listen to a lot of classical music and obscure bands from Russia and Japan.

Q:  What fashion accessory can you not live without!?

A:  My chunky Dior bracelet and I shall never part, honestly. It is one of the more rare vintage pieces, so it remains to be very difficult to find the matching necklace that it was intended to be paired with, but I love it anyway.

Q:  What message do you want to spread to the world through your style and blog?

A:  The message that I want to share through my style and my blog is simply that people should never be ashamed of themselves, nor should they ever feel limited by who they are or where they are from. People will not always understand you or what you represent and vice versa, but you shouldn’t let their opinions change you. Stay true to yourself and the rest will follow as it should.

Q:  If you could only wear one brand for the rest of your life what would it be?

A:  Tribe, most definitely. Ever since the announcement was made that Tribehaus will have its own line of clothing and accessories, I’ve been daydreaming about all of the cute ways I could style the stuff. What I like about Tribehaus is what it represents to me as a person; the brand is like a community unto itself and we’re all supportive of each other within that group. I have always felt that the message behind Tribehaus is very positive and inspiring, and for that reason, I would gladly wear it for the rest of my life because it is like supporting my own friends.

I discovered Arphose Lux a couple years ago through Lookbook.nu.   I was in awe of her truly unique style and attitude.   At that time she had her own clothing line, Holy&Haunted, which was impressive and stunning.   As she has moved on to new creative ventures, Arphose is definitely one to watch.   Enjoy our interview below!

Q:  Where were you born and where do you live now?

A:  I was born in Toulouse, the south of France.  I still live in the same house of my childhood, in the countryside near Toulouse.

Q:  How old are you?

A:  I am now 18!

Q:  What life experiences have influenced who you are?

A:  My father left us when I was still a baby and I never lived with him.  So my mother raised me like a boss aha.  When she was young she was a punk, therefore she is a really open-minded woman and she let me experience many styles and activities.  By those experiences, I discovered a real passion for fashion and make-up.

Q:  How would you describe your own style?

A:  Actually, I went through a lot of different styles, from decora to a sort of rock/grunge.  Currently, I would describe my style as grungy cute fifties/vintage inspired style aha.  I am really torn between the cute part and the dark part (my mother's influence I guess :D).

Q:  What music are you listening to right now?

A:  I am crazy about acoustic folk music.  And right now, I am listening to Matt Corby-Made of Stone, he is an Australian singer.

Q:  What advice can you give to other young women about pursuing their creative dreams?

A:  Don't be lazy!  If you want to achieve something, you have to practice, practice, practice.  And most of all, never stop dreaming, you're the only one who can decide which life you want to live : ).

Q:  What culture influences your fashion the most?

A:  Maybe Japanese one.  Not really the culture (I prefer the English one), but about fashions, Japan is really vast and inspiring, it condenses every corner of fashion.

Q:  Will you ever reopen Holy&Haunted?  It was such a great concept and line!

A:  First, thank you.  I don't know if I will reopen Holy&Haunted under this name, but I have a new idea in mind.  I would like to sell personalized hand-made skirts.

Q:  And finally, what is your dream job?

A:  My ultimate dream job since I was 5 years old is to become a well-known makeup-artist.

Entertainer Ahsh Eff and I have been following each other for over a year now.  We have see each other grow and expand our careers and dreams and have supported each other along the way.  She has just recently released her first music video #SoAmazing which is impressive and different, something that will stick with you and empower you as a man or a women, she's the future in music and performance.  Enjoy my interview with her below!

AHSH EFF: the breakdown.

Q: Where were you born and how old are you?

A: I was born in Saratoga Springs, New York and I am 18 years wise.

Q: How did you come up with the name Ahsh Eff and what does it mean to you?

A: Ahsh came from my middle name, Ahshāe which means to live life, and Eff is short for Effect. Ahsh Eff meaning the effect I want my music to have on everyone. It means everything to me, but most importantly it symbolizes evolution.

Q: Who are your musical influences?

A: Some of my musical influences are The T.R.U Soldiers, UGK, Dipset, Juvenile, & Nirvana. . . Just  to name a few.

Q: What have been your greatest struggles in being a female rapper?

A: One of my biggest struggles has been removing myself from the category of "Female Rapper" and instead an Entertainer. I feel as though calling myself a Female Rapper is limiting myself, considering the diversity of my skills. If a female can perform at the equivalent of her male counterparts why can't she just be a dope ass Entertainer regardless of gender?!?!

Q: How would you describe your style?

A: I would describe my style as being quirky, weird, abnormal and very brave but tasteful.

Q: When is your mix tape being released and how can we get it?

A: My MixTape is being released in late August 2013. When it's released the link will be available on all of my social media outlets, as well as a major MixTape outlet... TBA soon.
My facebook: http://Facebook.com/AhshEff , youtube: http://YouTube.com/AhshEffTV and twitter: http://Twitter.com/AhshEff

Q: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

A: In 5 years I see myself evolving into a brand that is not limited to music, with the ability to branch off into different aspects of the entertainment industry such as, acting, modeling, producing etc.

Q: What do you want to do for the music industry?

A: I want to offer my perspective on music as the Art of self expression.

Q: What message does your music send out?

A: More than a message my music is a testimonial glimpse into my life as well as the lives of others who may not be able to or know how to discuss their experiences or express their emotions.

Q: And finally, what is some positive advice you can give to people who want to follow their dreams but are too scared?

A: The shoulda, woulda, coulda's will haunt you for the rest of your life so take the risk, and push the envelope!

Watch my video #SoAmazing here.

Launched almost a year ago, Tribehaus is a community project and shop I started to make people feel connected and part of something.  Technology can be viewed as a way to keep people separate, but I choose to embrace this beast and see how much it could bring people together.  With many ups and downs over my first year in business the greatest blessings have been the people from around the world who are now such a huge part of the company or tribe or family or whatever word you choose to use, people who just belong together.

One of these people is Bianca,  I will let her tell you about herself, but I knew when we connected she needed to be part of the company somehow and her brilliance and sense of humor just made her a perfect fit to blog for Tribe.   I don't know how I always find these amazing people but I always do, and now Tribehaus wouldn't be Tribehaus without them.

Also below are my top picks from the shop! Enjoy! : ) xo Anna

I hate descriptions, almost all of them are so boring and dull, but mine isn't because I'm awesome, ain't I?

So let's start with the very beginning, I was born in Romania, in a city called Cluj-Napoca almost 16 years ago.  My mother decided that the name Bianca would suit me and she was right.  So today I go Bibi (because almost every teenager uses their nickname instead of their name) , I still live in the city I was born, I have a westie I constantly fight with for my mother's attention, I have a 5 year old brother, I am Instagram and Tumblr addicted, I dyed my hair pink three times so far and I have a pretty cool life, I'm just like every teenager.

I have love problems, let's not forget about the drama.  I'm Tumblr feet famous and I'm socially akward.  But my mom says I'm special.  I'm not a fashionista but I like to have my own style.  But I warn you, I'm a very random person.

But that's all I'm telling you about me for now.  Let me tell you a story about Tribehaus, about how the Tribe spirit connects people.  For me, Tribehaus is not just a site where you buy awesome clothes, Tribehaus is more than a shop, it's a community a family.  Tribehaus brings people together with all it's positive vibes and inspirations, it's a big with syle and swag family.  I never imagined the Tribe movement would become such a big important part of my life, but I'm very blessed to be part of it and contribute what I have.

Below are some of my favorite picks from the shop : )

Till next time,

Bibi
